Apple Moves Away From Jobs
Apple Steve Jobs displays a rather fascinating balance between design and utility. While it is often moved more towards the side of the design, resulting in problems such as Antennagate, but that tends to happen when Jobs was not there. He made the products worked well and looked good - he understood the need to do both.
After Jobs left Apple in the 1980s, there were clear changes to Apple products. However, it was not until Windows 95 launched that people actually seemed to look at Apple in very different ways, and not particularly favorable.

Facebook Isn't Dying, It's Just Changing
Reports of Facebook's death are greatly exaggerated, says Rhiannon Williams. We just prefer to stalk over sharing.
A global map of interactions between Facebook users created in 2010
Every
few months, a report is published suggesting Facebook is in decline. A notable
study from researchers at Princeton University published earlier this year
declared the social network would lose 80 per cent of its users and die out
“like the bubonic plague”. Another from You Gov branded Facebook and rival Twitter's
popularity in decline in June, stating a lack of interest, concerns over
privacy and advertising fatigue among the key reasons.
Yet
for all this doom-mongering, are any fewer of us using Zuckerberg's decade-old
platform? Global Web Index has published a comprehensive report on social media
use across 32 global markets, encompassing some 170,000 internet users in the
largest on-going study into the life of the digital consumer.

Samsung SD590C 27 Inch Curved LED Monitor Review
Wrap your desktop in curves for less cash with Samsung's SD590C
Samsung is betting big on curved screens this year. Initially speculated to be a gadget, displayed curves have started to develop on users. Relegated to TV monitors or premium office until now, Samsung is trying their curves on a smaller screen (and the budget) with the "SD590C 27. And while the curve is more pronounced on larger screens, PC gamers - which often serve only a few meters from their screen - could be a perfect fit for the new offering from Samsung.
The SD590C is a little more expensive than his brothers, similar in size to flat panels, but with a recommended 399 MSRP? $?, This is the cheapest offering even curved screen. Could this be the answer for players of the research budget for a more immersive experience, or is the SD590C just a novelty?
Sleek, but fragile
Out of the box, cut the SD590C a bright, minimalist silhouette. The glossy finish is a bit flashy, but thin, half-inch bezel keeps the look from being too hard on the eyes. All panel lines lights well and the installation of the office holder is as easy as securing a seat belt.

It also has a screen Retina of 12 inches with a number of 2304 by 1440 pixels, with the new LED technology which allows the same brightness to energy production 30% lower. The environmental impact of the laptop was referenced several times during its unveiling, and has been described as "the most efficient portable power the world."
Apple's radical 12-inch MacBook is the slimmest, lightest MacBook ever
There's a reason Apple has not changed the basic design MacBook Air for years: It is basically perfect, the epitome of a thin and light laptop, its luxurious, very thin exterior to its majestic glass trackpad . But even perfection can not persuade Apple to sit on his heels.
On Monday, Apple revealed a new 12-inch MacBook, a radical overhaul that shakes MBA design win by dumping virtually all conventional Thunderbolt port, SD card slot, a power connector, while in favor of a pair one USB Type C-connection and an audio jack. Samsung and HTC both know what it's like to be the top manufacturer of the Android device. Samsung currently holds that position, but HTC is struggling to ascend a few difficult years. Samsung has stumbled in the last year, but the newly announced Galaxy S6 is a chance to turn around declining sales. At the same time, HTC seeks to maintain its recent momentum with a M9. This year, Samsung is changing dramatically, but HTC still on track. Let's see how these jewels 2015 stack.Design and style

Light, slightly cheap-feeling, and almost entirely of plastic - which was the Samsung modus operandi before mid-2014 when it became apparent Galaxy S5 sales came in significantly below expectations. He began tinkering with metal frames and twisted designs, but the S6 Galaxy is more than a tweak.

Features Apple Watch, leaking materials before the announcement
In a move that would leave the ghost of Steve Jobs, grinding his teeth, all the features and capabilities Watch Apple will unveil on Monday allegedly fled, including information on the materials and construction of the unit. Not all of these qualify as an escape, certainly, but for employment, who prided himself locked up the very existence of a product before launch, this kind of perspective would be anathema.
First up, there's the Financial Times, which ran a long interview with Jony Ive. In it, would've told the FT that "the molecules to Golden Apple are closer together, making it twice as hard as the gold standard. And in case you were wondering, forged steel Cold Apple is 40 percent more durable than ordinary steel "

Sony demos updated Project Morpheus VR headset, on track for 2016 release
Not since the Nintendo Virtual Boy collected dust on store shelves decades ago was virtual reality a big deal. Suddenly,
all the technology companies made his own VR helmet, and Sony has
unveiled an updated version of his views on the screen fad mounted on
the head. Project
Morpheus was revealed last year, but the version has just shown off at
the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco has a number of
important improvements. And according to the president of Sony Shu Yoshida, the near final hardware.
There are a number of considerations that come into play when designing a VR helmet that would not be a problem with other devices. You can not strike any screen on a helmet when he is going to be a few inches from your eyes. You need a display of very high quality and the right technology to make realistic scenes and avoid sickness. Samsung is trying to solve this problem by having users connect their phablets Galaxy Note in the VR Gear. The note has a beautiful Super AMOLED screen, but it really limits the public. Google did the same with carton / ViewMaster, but in a more casual kind of way.

Google Tests First Error Correction in Quantum Computing
Quantum computers will never surpass conventional computers of today, unless they can correct errors that disrupt fragile quantum states of their qubits. A Google team took the next big step towards making quantum computing practice by demonstrating the first system capable of correcting these errors.
The breakthrough of Google origin with hiring a quantum computing research group at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall of 2014. UCSB researchers had already constructed a quantum circuits system made with sufficient accuracy to to the error correction a superconducting ability. This realization led the way early for researchers now many employees to Google to build a system to correct errors that naturally arise during quantum computing operations. Their work is detailed in the March 4, 2015 issue of the journal Nature.
HTC's Vive headset made this virtual reality noob a virtual reality believer
When I tried the Samsung speed VR at IFA last year, I was not completely sold on the idea of bringing virtual reality in my living room. I always thought that technology is a kind of gimmick-something that only hardcore gamers really want to invest. And GearVR, as Oculus Rift (which I did not use) requires you to remain essentially stationary, just follow your head movements.
Smartphone dead , Fuel cells offer instant power anywhere
The promise has been there for some time. A few years ago, the electronics companies have tried to popularize methanol based fuel cells but failed to take off. This time the focus is on hydrogen.Since hydrogen gas enters the fuel cell through a membrane, the electrons are pulled out and travel through an external circuit which is the flow of electricity. At the output of the fuel cell, the electrons recombine with the ionized oxygen and hydrogen from the air, so that the only byproduct is water. There is already a hydrogen fuel cell on the market, with another promised for this year. Both were exhibited at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.

Smarter Systems Make Web Surfing on Your Phone Less of a Battery Drain
According to forecasts by the International Data Corporation, more people will surf the Web this year using their mobile devices to be on desktops or laptops. But the increasing complexity of mobile web pages means that web browsing has become an increasing drain on the batteries of mobile devices. The result of increasingly common is that the battery life of a handset is significantly reduced or mobile Web browsing slows to a creep conserve energy. Smartphone users are not happy with either outcome. And online businesses risk losing potential customers money if mobile devices can not offer a web browsing experience seamless.
One solution uses existing hardware smartphone smarter; it avoids wasting CPU performance or battery power at loading Web pages. Smartphone operating systems usually have a battery saving mode that uses the lowest frequency of the processor to minimize energy consumption and a performance mode that loads web pages as fast as possible using the highest frequency of the processor. Engineers at the University of Texas at Austin have improved with a system that divides the difference by the loading of web pages using just the right frequency of the processor. They presented a paper describing the work to the IEEE Symposium on High Performance Computer Architecture last month in Burlingame, California.
MacBook ship times slip back a day ( new models on the way )
Looking to buy a new MacBook from the Apple site? Then you might have to wait a "business day" for the model you choose to ship. This is unusual; after initial delays associated with each new Apple product, MacBook are normally available to ship immediately.
Such minor setback normally would not cause a fuss, but the timing of the delay could be significant. Next media event Apple is Monday and the company's products sometimes go on time to an important announcement because the old stock is becoming tighter. Latest-generation systems are not of much use when a new line model goes live.

Xbox Live Comes to Windows 10
Microsoft aims for a unified experienceIf you have heard of Games for Windows Live (GFWL), then you are probably familiar with some of its problems. The difficulties encountered by some users had basic things like login and update the GFWL could produce epic tales of woe. GFWL
was deactivated last year, and he went to his online matchmaking
system, which means that games that used this service to create
multiplayer sessions or had not had multiplayer or connect to anything
else, as Steamworks. With
the next major version of Windows coming out this year, Microsoft wants
to give another shot, and fortunately they using a different set of
tools, and the introduction of some exciting new features. We sat for a conference on the subject, conducted by engineers from Microsoft Vijay Gajjala and Brian Tyler.
First, the Xbox Live service on Windows 10 is being desktop native code running in a Windows 10 application, rather than a port. Tablets and phones running Windows 10 all the windows get their native applications, which in theory should result in a smoother operation. Microsoft also talks about single sign-on, so you can use a single account on all Microsoft Win10 devices to connect to XBL and the connection to the device itself. When asked about the availability of this service for previous versions of Windows, and Android devices or Max OSX, the company had no firm plans on the horizon.

Office 2016 for Mac finally catches up to its Windows equivalent
It is slowly approaching five years since the first Microsoft released Office 2011 for Mac in October 2010. Although the final version of Office 2016 for Mac is not ready for now, Microsoft announced a preview program today for Mac users to get a first idea to the company's work. Microsoft has done a good job with the Bureau, bringing it to the iPad, extending Dropbox, and even the acquisition of impressive applications like Desktop Acompli food on iOS and Android. Office 2016 for Mac is the latest result of the focus by Microsoft on multi-platform applications, and finally matching its Windows equivalent.
The first thing I noticed about using Office 2016 for Mac is the user interface. While existing 2011 version looks old in comparison, Microsoft has not given up parts of the aging interface entirely. It looks and feels like a mix of Windows and cool design Office for Mac 2011. "We think we have done a good job of finding a balance that customers expect," said Eric Wilfred, the head of Microsoft office Mac applications, in an interview with The Verge. "Our internal slogan, and we're actually pretty corny to say this in the corridors, is" Unquestionably Bureau and optimized for the Mac. "The result is the familiar ribbon user interface that fits into the theme and OS X features like sandboxing applications, full view, and optimization of the Retina display.
